TRANSPORTATION Getting there Air - The Manchester Airport is the largest airport outside London, and received services from several airlines daily. Once you arrive at the airport, there are plenty of on-site trains and buses to transport you into town. Train - Major train stations in Manchester are Piccadilly and Victoria Station, and the two stations are linked by Metrolink. Bus - There are buses leaving from Manchester every hour to most major cities and vice versa. The main station in Manchester is the Chorlton St coach station in the city center, and the company that operates it is the National Express Bus Service. Car - Manchester is a three-hour drive from London, 200mi/322km miles away to the south. Its neighbour and rival Liverpool is half an hour and 35mi/56km away by car. Getting around - Manchester's city center is easy to walk around, but there are extensive bus, train and tram networks once your feet are wearied or when you want to get somewhere quickly.
